The AVP for Financial Analytics is responsible for managing NewCo MRx internal and client facing analytics for NewCo MRx objectives, including drug strategy financial net cost and rebate modeling as well as other innovation or objectives determined by the leadership team. This position is accountable for the execution of programs and solutions that drive strategic medical product decisions, pharmaceutical manufacturer contract decisions, and related client messaging. This position is also responsible for analyzing and enhancing contract performance, negotiations, agreement execution, training of internal teams and driving outcome value to internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop in conjunction with the Leadership Team, near term and multi-year plan for savings strategies related to NewCo MedicalRx drug savings opportunities.
  • Lead with external partnership opportunities for creating savings on medical drugs, including partnering internally with NewCo MRx teams to align strategies and negotiate with external partners; collaborate and provide oversight to the medical rebate annual bid process sand rebate agreement process to ensure alignment with goals, performance standards and expected outcomes.
  • Develop business case, and end-to-end program solutions in collaboration with internal teams for proposed strategies and represent strategies to the Executive Leadership Team or other stakeholders.
  • Maintain in-depth industry and competitive insights to proactively evaluate new product development opportunities, anticipate changing market needs, and identify possible enhancements; maintain and coordinate cadence of product competitive intelligence and calendar activities to bring awareness, readiness, and to establish and maintain repeatable cadence of product activities.
  • Partner with the Pharmaceutical Trade Relations in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and collaborate with key internal teams to create program/product value to clients, members, providers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Participate in external and internal relationships necessary to position products and solutions within the market or with pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Represent company objectives and perspective to external partners (i.e., pharmaceutical manufacturers, clients, marketplace, medical professionals, etc.) and communicate to ensure understanding of mutual objectives.
  • Ensure manufacturers’ products are brought forth internally to evaluate rebate and formulary opportunities for Prime’s business.
  • Represent Trade Relations on committees to identify net-cost effective policy opportunities; support client alignment and adoption of strategies; assure communication with committee members
  • Develop standards for analytic frameworks.
  • Lead a team of analysts to achieve above objectives and sufficiently support in ad hoc and production analysis and reporting manners.


Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare management or other related field of study or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
  • 10 years of related work experience in healthcare, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), pharmaceutical sales, analytical contracting or business development; also to include:
  • 8 years in drug cost modeling and cost analysis
  • 5 years in leadership position or team management
  • Experience with pharmaceutical channel supply chain and pharmaceutical economics including reimbursement, discounts, rebates through various methods of drug sourcing.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships at all levels within an organization
  • Strong business acumen Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, other graduate work, or equivalent training and/or experience
  • Experience within the PBM industry, Medicaid, Medicare, and health plans
